Description

This beige Pashmina shawl has been woven slowly and carefully on a traditional handloom in the Kashmir valley in India. The weaver works with fine Pashmina yarn, guiding each thread by hand to create a fabric that is light, soft, and naturally warm. The pace is calm and steady, shaped by skill that has been passed down through generations.

Once the shawl is finished on the loom, it is taken to an embroidery artisan who decorates the border with aari work. Using a small hooked needle, the artisan stitches flowing vines, leaves, and paisleys in soft ivory and blue. Each stitch is placed by hand, building the design slowly and patiently.

The result is a shawl that feels personal and thoughtful. It drapes beautifully, carries the warmth of Pashmina, and reflects the quiet craft traditions of Kashmir. More than just an accessory, it is a piece made with care from beginning to end.
